Abstract

1532908 Platinum resistance thermometer W C HERAEUS GmbH 7 April 1977 [9 April 1976] 14951/77 Heading H1K Electrical contact is made to a temperature sensitive platinum resistance film on a ceramic e.g. alumina substrate by printing spots of a bondable precious metal, e.g. Au or precious metal alloy on the film, connecting electrodes of precious metal (e.g. Au or Pt) or precious metal alloy to the spots covering the connections or the entire resistor with a paste containing ceramic components in a glazing mass and baking in an oxidizing atmosphere to provide a coating with a thermal expansion coefficient matched to that of platinum. As described the electrodes are attached by ultrasonic or thermocompression bonding, and the back face of the substrate may also be coated with platinum.
