Abstract

1532657 Flexible rubber products SHELLERGLOBE CORP 17 Nov 1975 [27 Jan 1975] 47326/75 Headings C3M and C3P Flexible rubber products are prepared by moulding a composition comprising (a) 15- 90% crosslinkable rubber material which is styrene/butadiene rubber, polybutadiene rubber or isoprene rubber optionally including 0-50% ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymer or neoprene rubber but no ethylene/propylene copolymers, (b) 0À01-50% plasticizer, and (c) 0À01-10% curing agent, and curing the moulded composition at 275-600‹ F. for 0À5-20 minutes. The compositions may contain 10% of an activating agent and up to 80% of a filler. The plasticizer may be a naphthenic or paraffinic oil, polyester, petroleum resin or coumarone/indene resin. The surface of the moulding may be painted, preferably after activating and priming, and the moulding, curing and painting may be effected as a continuous operation.
