Abstract

1532404 Article ejection V J SHAW 15 Dec 1975 [25 Sept 1974] 41800/74 Heading B5A A concrete or plastics article cast at an upper station in a mould 22 is ejected at a lower station by inverting the mould and applying fluid pressure between the article and the base and/or sides of the mould. As described, the mould 22 supported on tables 21, 19 is raised by chains, pulleys and counterweights 25, 26 to receive concrete from a hopper 12 having ramoperated, pivoted outlet flaps 17. The hopper is moved by a ram over the whole mould on wheels 13 and tracks 14. The mould and tables 22, 21, 19 are lowered for screeding, and vibrating by a vibrator 22 mounted between the tables 21, 19. A pallet 23 is clamped pneumatically over the concrete, and the tables and mould inverted in bearings 31 to be held by pneumatic rams 36 against a counterweight 20. Air under pressure is fed through the mould bottom to release the article for ejection on to the unclamped pallet, under gravity and air pressure. The mould and tables are then moved by the wheeled supporting frame 10, to upset the operation in a different place. The air contacts the article directly, or through an inflatable bag, bellows, or a rigid metal or plastics/rubber false mould bottom. Pneumatic and electrical control circuits are shown, with failsafe rams and locks.
