Abstract

1532326 Connecting wires MOLEX Inc 14 April 1977 [6 May 1976] 15460/77 Heading H2E A first wire 14 is connected to an insulation clad second wire 16 by means of a connector comprising a unitary terminal 18 having a rigid portion provided with wire trap means, e.g. resilient leg portions 30, 32, and a first insulating cutting edge 40. The terminal 18 also includes a resilient portion 38 having a second cutting edge 42 displaceable towards the first. A housing 20 for the terminal has a wire loading slot 52, a first compartment for the resilient portion 38 having a cam surface 60 for moving surface 42 toward surface 40 so as to effect electrical contact with the second wire 16 in slot 52 as the terminal is pushed into the housing 20.
