Abstract

1531455 Spray-producers C P EQUIPMENT Ltd 13 Feb 1976 [13 Feb 1975] 6179/75 Heading B2F A liquid discharge nozzle comprises a tubular flow control member 2 which is open at one end for connection to a supply of liquid under pressure and closed at the other end 12 and is provided with circumferentially spaced radially extending holes 14 adjacent the end 12, the member 2 being mounted for relative movement in a body member 4 having a discharge passage 8 within which the end 12 is relatively movable and which is of somewhat larger diameter than the portion of the flow control member 2 adjacent the end 12 to provide radial clearance for liquid flowing through the holes 14. The passage 8 terminates in a frusto conical or dished surface 16 whereby, if the member 2 is moved relatively outwardly from the jet discharge position depicted, liquid impinges on the surface 16 to form a generally conical spray pattern. The members 2 and 4 may cooperate via a screw thread and a screw thread or lug and discharge is stopped when the holes 14 lie between sealing rings 32. The nozzle is provided with a rubber grip 34.
