Abstract

1379205 Spraying nozzles R F BRIDGLAND JNR 20 Dec 1971 [18 Dec 1970] 60279/70 Heading B2F In a fire-fighting nozzle which comprises a deflecting cone 5 movable with respect to the nozzle orifice 2, the cone movement is produced by fluid pressure controllable from a position removed from the nozzle. As shown, fluid is supplied through hydraulic ducts 11 to act on a piston 5 in a cylinder 7 closed by a plug 10, to move the cone 4 from the position illustrated in which a conical spray G is produced, to an inner position in which an axially directed jet J issues from between cylindrical surfaces 13, 14. The nozzle is also provided with wedge-shaped diffuser teeth 12.
