Abstract

1530510 Junction pieces INSULATORS Ltd 15 July 1977 [17 July 1976 20 Oct 1976] 29839/76 and 43421/76 Heading F2G A diverter for installation in a rain-water downpipe comprises an upper end 16 constituting a socket and a lower end forming a spigot 15, with an annular channel therein formed by a floor 18 and wall 21, water collected by the channel feeding to a branch pipe 10 and thereafter into a water butt, there being a cut-out 22 in the wall 21 opposite the branch pipe 10 so that when the water butt is full, water will flow through the cut-out 22 and out to the downpipe through the spigot 15. A cap may be fitted over the branch pipe if it is desired not to collect water. In alternative constructions the diverter is fabricated from a standard 112¢ degrees T- piece in which is inserted an annular channel collector member having a channel leading therefrom into the branch outlet of the T-piece.
