Abstract

1530390 Wire supporting insulator AHI OPERATIONS Ltd 14 Dec 1976 [7 Jan 1976] 52113/76 Heading H2C An insulator for supporting a wire, e.g. of an electric fence comprises a body member 1 of insulating material fastenable to a support, e.g. by a nail 10 or a bolt, a groove 3 in the upper surface of the body to receive the wire and a pivoted cover 7 having a slot which can be snap fitted on to a pin on the body member so that the wire is held in its groove. The body and cover may be of polyethylene or polypropylene. Shaped rain deflecting portions 15 are moulded at either end of the body. In Fig. 3, not shown, the body has a bifurcated portion mountable on a post by means of a pin.
