1530272 1 - (2,6 - Dichlorophenyl) - 2 - pyrazolin-5-ones AGFA-GEVAERT 26 Jan 1976 [21 Feb 1975] 7412/75 Heading C2C [Also in Division G2] Novel 1 - (2,6 - dichlorophenyl) - 2 - pyrazolin- 5-ones of general formula which act as photographic colour couplers, wherein R<SP>1</SP> is alkyl, amino or substituted amino; R<SP>2</SP> is alkoxy, phenoxysulphonyl, substituted phenoxysulphonyl, sulphamoyl, N- mono- or di-substituted-sulphamoyl, carbamoyl,N-mono- or di-substituted carbamoyl, acylamino, or substituted acylamino group; X is H, halogen or alkoxy and Y is H or a group which splits off upon oxidative coupling with an aromatic primary amino compound, are generally prepared by cyclization of the corresponding 2,6- dichloro-4-sulphophenylhydrazine with a #,#,#- trimethoxypropionanilide. The group Y is preferably a halogen atom, alkylthio, arylthio or heterocyclic thio group, alkoxy, aryloxy, acyloxy or arylazo group.
