Abstract

1529637 Transfer printing involving masks KHAN & CO (LUTON) Ltd 22 April 1977 [27 April 1976] 16960/76 Heading B6C In a method of printing on fabrics using a sublimation transfer sheet in a heated press an impervious or partially pervious mask is interposed between the fabric and the transfer sheet in pre-determined arcass. The mask can be in the form of a stencil or may be a knitted or woven fabric carrying a pattern; paper doilies can also be utilized. If the fabric is permanently distortable under heat or pressure a thick stencil can be used to compress underlying areas and allow printed areas to be in relief. If the mask is partially pervious, only a limited amount of the dyestuff, will reach the fabric.
