Abstract
1529015 Mounting parts on shafts; circlips ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 20 Feb 1976 [28 Feb 1975] 06767/76 Headings F2U and F2H In order to prevent a circlip from being lifted out from a shaft groove at high shaft speeds or under shock loadings, a shaft and hub assembly includes a first circlip 1 located in a shaft groove 3 and a second circlip 2 radially aligned with the first cirolip and circumferentially surrounding it, being located in an internal groove 4 in the bore of the hub. In one embodiment, circlip 1 rests against the bottom of groove 3, and there remains a radial gap between the two circlips, the gap being substantially equal to the radial depth of groove 4, Fig. 2. In another embodiment, Fig. 3, an alternative circlip 7, slightly larger than circlip 1, rests in contact with circlip 2, and during assembly it is necessary to hold circlip 7 compressed against the bottom of groove 3, while circlip 2 is inserted, Fig. 5.
