Abstract

1526979 Clutch control M MOREAU 11 Dec 1975 [12 Dec 1974] 50904/75 Heading F2L [Also in Division B7] An hydraulic motor 1, for providing driving assistance to the wheels of a trailer or semitrailer, is coupled and uncoupled by a clutch 4, the clutch engaging when the wheel speed falls below a given value or pressure in a motor line exceeds a given value and being disengaged if the speed exceeds a further value or the pressure drops below another value. A wheel speed sensor 15 and distributer 14 may be provided to control the clutch. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) a calibrated value senses the motor pressure to control the clutch. The clutch may be controlled hydraulically, pneumatically, mechanically or electromagnetically.
