Abstract

1526747 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems STAL REFRIGERATION AB 4 Dec 1975 [13 Dec 1974 9 Oct 1975] 49843/75 Heading G3P [Also in Division F4] In a plant comprising a closed circuit for a refrigerant including a compressor 1 of variable capacity, a condenser 2, an expansion valve 3 and an evaporator 4, control means adjust the capacity of the compressor in response to pressure changes in the supply to the condenser. The compressor contains a chamber (31) Fig. 2 (not shown) isolated from two cylinder chambers (29, 30) by a valve (35) normally held closed by the pressure from a lubricating oil pump 9. When the pressure in a line 5 increases, a diaphragm 20 is depressed to move a valve 12 towards its closed position and reduce the pressure applied to the valve (35) which is opened by a spring (36) to reduce the capacity of the compressor. A second valve 13 controlled by a temperature sensor 23 in the evaporator 4 may also be provided to control the compressor. In a second embodiment, the condenser of a heat pump plant supplies the radiators (47) Fig. 4 (not shown) of a building heating system and the valve (13a) is electrically controlled by a unit (61) receiving temperature signals from the water in the heating system and from the outside air. A three-way valve (60) also controlled by the unit (61) permits a boiler (48) to supply the radiators when the outside temperature is below freezing.
