Abstract
1526614 Stator windings for dynamo-electric machines T N BELOVA L A DROZDOVA A T ZVEREV J G TJURIN and G M KHUTORETSKY 16 Feb 1977 6543/77 Heading H2A A dynamo electric machine has a slotless core and a two-layer stator winding. The two layers are constituted by outer and inner bars shown by references 3 and 4 in an active portion 1 of the winding. The end connection portions 2 of the winding are disposed in four layers 6, 5, 7, 8 as shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows 36 bar positions 1<SP>1</SP>-36<SP>1</SP> (the outer bar being marked by a full line and the inner bar by a dashed line). The winding is formed as six coil sets 1C1-1C4, 2C1-2C4, &c. In the winding coil 1C1-1C4 the path is through bars 1<SP>1</SP> 15<SP>1</SP> 3<SP>1</SP> 17<SP>1</SP>, &c., i.e. the winding pitch is 14 bar pitches. Also in Fig. 3 the four end connection layers are indicated by thick full, thin full, thick dashed and thin dashed lines respectively. In the Fig. 3 arrangement the winding pitch is an even number of bar pitches and it will be seen that the end portions joining active bars of even rows (e.g. 2<SP>1</SP> and 14<SP>1</SP>) lie in the outer pair of layers (5 and 6 in Fig. 1) whilst those joining bars of odd rows lie in the inner pair of layers (7 and 8 in Fig. 1). A modified arrangement occurs where the winding pitch is an odd number of bar pitches (Figs. 2 and 4, not shown). The arrangement which utilizes alternate rows (e.g. 1<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>1</SP>) in a given winding coil reduces bending angle and overhang when compared with known arrangements in which sequential bars (1<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP>, &c.) are utilised (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown).
