Abstract
1526609 Measuring neutron flux S A M ALZAIDI 26 April 1977 17386/77 Heading G6P The neutron flux in a nuclear reactor is measured by means of a neutron sensitive material 16 located within an evacuated tube 13, electrons produced as a result of the interaction of the neutron flux with the material 16 being guided along the tube 13 by means of an axial magnetic field to a detector 24 situated outside of the reactor. The electrons may be positive or negative electrons emitted directly by material 16 or be secondary electrons produced from positive ions emitted by the material. The tube 15 is preferably bent between the material and the detector and the electrons may be steered round the bend magnetically or electrostatically.
