Abstract

1526355 Anchored nuts CIBIE PROJECTEURS 15 June 1976 [18 June 1975] 24795/76 Heading F2H A nut 10 having at one end two radially projecting ears 18, 20 which have part-annular grooves 22 in their circumferential surfaces is anchored in a hole 24 in a plate member 12, the hole having notches 26, 28 corresponding to the ears 18, 20, by passing the ears 18, 20 through the notches 26, 28 and turning'the nut through 90 degrees to engage the grooves 22 with the material surrounding the holes 12. The nut is of plastics material, with a knurled circular body 14. The ear 18 has a central slot containing a resilient tongue 34 which engages with a notch 30, or 32 in the hole 24 to lock the nut in its anchored position. A second form of nut, Fig. 5, has both ears 50, 52 solid, and has an arm 56 projecting radially from its body, the arm having at its free end a boss 58 to engage a second hole 60 in the plate 48 for locking. Two arms 56 and/or two holes 60 may be provided. A modified nut (64) (Figs. 7, 8, not shown) has a hole (78) in the or each arm to be engaged by a pip (82) formed on the plate. The nut may receive a headlamp adjusting screw 38 of a motor vehicle, the screw being of plastics material and having a screwdriver slot 40 at one end and a ball 42 at the other end.
