Abstract

1525953 Valves SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 26 Jan 1976 [28 Jan 1975] 3730/75 Heading F2V A slot 1 in the ball of a ball valve in which the actuating spindle fits is provided, at each end, with shaped extensions 5, 7, in which an adjustable compound wedge 13, 14 can be positioned so as to substantially fill the space left within the slot when the actuating shaft is in position. The extensions 5, 7 are so shaped as to provide lugs 10, 11 between them against which the wedge member can be held. Each compound wedge consists of a first member 13 having a threaded extension 20, a second member 14 having a bore for the extension 20 and a nut 15 for securing the wedge members in position.
