A mixing head suitable for mixing reagents to form a polyurethane composition comprises a mixing chamber 2 having an upper conical portion 6 and an agitator 3 rotatably mounted therein on a shaft 4 carrying an abutment plate 10, and at least two ducts 7 for supplying 'the reagents to the conical portion 6 of the mixing chamber so. that they first impinge on the abutment ,plate 10 before flowing through the mixing chamber The ducts 7 may be provided with pilug valves 8, 9 which may be operably connected by appropriate linkage, see Figs. 2, 3, and 4 (not [shown).
