Abstract

1525773 Silo bottom unloader KARL HANDLE & SOHNE MASCHINENFABRIK U EISENGIESSEREI 10 March 1976 [12 March 1975] 09656/76 Addition to 1481069 Heading B8E A silo is discharged by a sweep arm screw conveyer 41 through a easing 46 to a conveyer 38 as in Specification 1,481,069. The rotor supporting arm 39 and screw 41 are mounted at their inner end as in the prior Specification but extend through an annular opening between the silo casing 1 and floor 3 to be supported by rollers 44 of a runner assembly 43 on an annular rail 45 and by rollers 56 on the underside of the rail to prevent upward movement. The separate rotary drive for the arm assembly 12 is provided at the outer end to lessen bending forces and comprises hydraulic cylinders 24 engaging a toothed ring 22 by their piston rods 28 in such a way as to provide a substantially continuous rotary movement. To allow swinging movements of the screw 41 its inner end is mounted in a self aligning bearing 58.
