Abstract

1525226 Thermal insulation CAPE INSULATION Ltd 27 Aug 1975 [28 Aug 1974] 37604/74 Heading C3N A thermal insulating material is formed from a mixture comprising a mineral wool fibre, a synthetic thermosetting resinous binder, and a water-repellent additive other than the synthetic thermosetting resinous binder in an amount up to 1À2% by weight of the solids content of the mixture. The mineral wool fibre may be rock wool, slagwool or glasswool. The binder may be a phenol-formaldehyde resin, a urea-formaldehyde resin, a mixed phenol-formaldehyde/ urea-formaldehyde resin, a melamine-formaldehyde resin, an epoxy resin or a polyester. The water-repellent additive may be a silicone compound, a wax organo-titanium complex or a mineral oil.
