Abstract

1524841 Transper printing of cellulosic materials TOOTAL Ltd 20 May 1976 [20 Feb 1975] 7113/75 Heading D1B Cellulosic textile fabrics (containing at least 33% cellulosic fibres) are transfer printed by impregnating the fabric with an aqueous solution of crease-resisting agent as defined, and whilst the fabric is wet printing with a reactive dye as defined, by a wet transfer printing process under heat and pressure, and subsequently heating the fabric to a temperature sufficient to bring about fixation of the dye and insolubilisation of the creaseresisting agent. The wet fabric preferably contains 50% to 200% by weight of moisture and heat and pressure are effected for 15 seconds to 2 minutes. Alternatively the crease resisting agent and catalyst therefore are applied to the transfer paper printed with reactive dye and the paper is then placed in contact with the wet cellulosic fabric, at 150‹-210‹C for 3 minutes to 30 seconds to fix the dye and cross link the crease resist agent.
