Abstract

1524789 Delay blasting assembly CANADIAN INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 June 1977 [2 July 1976] 25837/77 Heading F3A A non-electric delay blasting assembly for use with a low energy detonating or shock wave cord comprises a metallic shell 1 containing an explosive composition 2, a delay train 4-7 and a resilient closure plug 8 having a channel therethrough divided into two compartments 10, 11 by means of a diaphragm 12, the outer compartment 10 being adapted to receive the end of the low energy cord. The explosive charge 1 is provided with a primer 3 and the delay train includes a delay composition 5 and a burning composition 7. The compartment 10 has a lip 13 for gripping a mini-detonator on the end of a shock wave cord or a sealing member on the end of a detonating cord.
