Abstract

1524557 Moulding tri-coloured articles ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 14 Oct 1975 [15 Oct 1975] 41984/75 Heading B5A An article having three distinct coloured regions A, B and C-e.g. a transparent plastics covering for a vehicle lamp-is made by engaging an angularly movable mould part 6<SP>1</SP> with a first fixed mould part (9, Fig. 6, not shown) and injecting one coloured plastics materials to form the region A, separating the fixed and movable mould parts while retaining region A on the movable mould part, rotating the movable mould part to a position 6<SP>11</SP> where it engages a second fixed mould part (9, Fig. 7, not shown) which with the movable mould defines the final article, and injecting two differently coloured plastics materials to form the regions B and C. Alternatively (Figs. 8-10, not shown), two regions may be moulded in the first stage and the remaining region, which may overlay the first two regions, is moulded in the second stage.
