Abstract

1523569 Tape measures STANLEY-MABO 11 March 1977 [29 March 1976] 10545/77 Heading G1M A spring wound tape measure has a brake which comprises an operating lever or button 8, Fig. 1, pivoted at 9b and connected by a pivot 23 to a second lever 10 which is pivoted at 12b and provided with a compressible brake foot 26 engaging the tape 5. In the braked position, Fig. 1, the pivot 23 is overcentre towards the drum of the line joining the pivots 9b and 12b, whilst in the unbraked position, Fig. 2, the pivot 23 is overcentre on the other side of the line.
