Abstract

1522636 Actuator buttons for pressurized dispensing containers; reciprocating pumps R H LAAUWE 17 July 1975 [19 July 1974] 30057/75 Headings F1A and F1R A valve button includes a valve closing the discharge orifice, which valve is opened by pressure when the container valve is opened and closes when the container valve is closed and remains open while the container valve is open. As shown the button 7 is received on a valve stem 6 which connects with a chamber 11 through a passage 10a. The chamber 11 has a discharge orifice 13 closed by the end 17 of a piston-rod 16 carried by a piston 15 slidable in the chamber 11 but held against rotation by guides 24, 25 and acted on to close the orifice 13 by a spring 23 and to open the orifice by the pressure in the chamber 11 the extent of opening being limited by an abutment carried by a screw threaded cap 20. A swirl chamber is formed between the end 17 and the orifice 13 and is fed through radial passages which are also controlled by the movement of the piston-rod. It is stated that the button may be used as a finger actuated pump type dispenser.
