Abstract

1521310 Lamp testing circuit BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE AG 12 Dec 1975 [14 Dec 1974] 51071/75 Heading G1U A pair of lamps 1, 2, Fig. 1, for example in a car, normally energized in parallel from a supply 16 under the control of a switch 11 (a switch 10 being normally closed), are tested when they are otherwise not in use by opening the switch 10 and applying power to the lamps from a supply 16a via a test switch 15. If either lamp is open circuit the base of a transistor 13 is raised sufficiently so that the transistor 13 conducts and a warning lamp 17 is lit. A second pair of lamps 18, 19 may be associated with the same warning lamp 17 via a second transistor 24, and many such double pairs may be associated with the same test switch 15, as shown. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), switches 10 and 11 are controlled by a single relay so arranged that when the test switch 15 is closed the relay is made to drop out.
