Abstract

1519883 Oil filter AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 17 May 1977 [25 May 1976] 21528/76 Heading B1D [Also in Division F2] A disposable oil filter of the integral housing type for an I.C. engine oil circuit comprises a cup-like casing (5) closed by an end plate (7, 9) having in its outer face an annular groove (13) accommodating a sealing ring 14 for engaging the filtermounting surface of the engine, the ring 14 being of rectangular transverse section and filling only half the radial width of groove (13) over most of its circumference but having spaced projections 16 which fill the whole width of the groove. The ring may be of nitrile or chloroprene rubbers or polyurethane. The thin and thick portions of the end plate are spot-welded together at 11 or at the bottom of the groove (13).
