Abstract

1519845 Producing amplified colour photographic images KONISHIROKU PHOTO INDUSTRY CO Ltd 10 July 1975 [12 July 1974 21 Sept 1974] 29121/75 Heading G2C A method comprises processing imagewise exposed light-sensitive silver halide material containing a coupler with a colour developing agent and processing the exposed material with an amplifying composition containing H2 O 2 in the presence of imagewise produced silver, and either during the development or thereafter but before the amplification contacting the material with a compound capable of deactivating or dissolving the unexposed silver halide of the material. The deactivating compound may be a mercapto compound, an azole compound, an oxonium compound or a dyestuff (see Ex. 1-3). The compound capable of dissolving the silver halide may be an alkali metal or ammonium thiosulphate, cyanide or thicoyanamine (see Ex. 5 and 6). The exposed material may be developed first with a black-andwhite developing agent and then with a colour developing agent, before the amplification. Black- and-white and colour developing agents may be present in the same bath. This method can be used for long periods.
