1519146 Electrically-illuminated jewellery M S R SMITH 17 Nov 1975 [26 Nov 1974] 51109/74 Heading A3H The lamps or light-emitting diodes of electrically-illuminated jewellery are supplied with high current pulses of short duration to illuminate them alternating with prolonged low current periods insufficient for illumination, by an integrated solid state circuit directly or via a transistor relay. Current may flow for 1/10<SP>th</SP> sec and be at a very low value for 5 sec, to reduce current consumption.
