1518686 Ferroelectric transparent ceramic material NIPPON TELEGRAPH & TELEPHONE PUBLIC CORP 3 Sept 1975 [4 Sept 1974] 36279/75 Heading C1J A ferroelectric transparent ceramic material consists of (Pb 1-y A y ) (Zr x(1-y) Ti (1-x)(1-y) B y )O 3 wherein A is Na<SP>1+</SP>, K<SP>1+</SP>, Li<SP>1+</SP>, or Sm<SP>3+</SP>, B is Nb<SP>5+</SP>, Ta<SP>5+</SP>, or In<SP>3+</SP>, the combination of A and B being such that the sum of their valencies is 6 and x has a composition region of 0 to 0À95 and y of 0À03 to 0À95. In the Examples, the ceramic material is produced from the constituent oxides by weighing, mixing, calcining, cooling, crushing, drying, pressing and finally placing in a hot pressing mould made of alumina at 1150 to 1250‹C for 16 hours under a pressure of 200 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>.
