Abstract

1518163 Collapsible boxes BOSTON TIMBER FABRICATIONS Ltd 14 June 1976 [12 June 1975] 25240/75 Heading B8P A collapsible box, e.g. for chilled chickens comprises four sides and a base 4, the sides being foldable along their junctions with the base 4 and the base 4 being foldable along a central line 5. Two sides 6, 7 are integral with the base 4, while the other sides are defined as open structures by wooden members 8, 9 which engage in slots 14 of side flanges 10, 11 and are attached by stapling. Portions 15 are doubledover to form corner posts, and corner pieces 17 facilitate stacking. The box is collapsed by folding the walls 6, 7 inwardly about portions PE, QF of the line 5 and pushing the base downwardly to fold about a portion GH of the line 5, Fig. 4 (not shown), which portion is formed as a double fold line to allow for the thickness of the base 4. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), a deeper box is provided by forming the open sides with two parallel strips of wood (8), (18).
