Abstract

1517897 Electric incandescent lamps WAGNER ELECTRIC CORP 4 April 1977 [5 April 1976] 14072/77 Heading H1F To achieve precise positioning of a filament and filament shield in relation to the reflector of a vehicle headlamp, support pins 70, 72 pierce in sealed reflector 14, filament shield 30 is welded at portion 64 to pin 70, projection 50 of shield 30 is welded to pin 72, one end 56 of filament 12 is welded to the shield at raised portion 40 and the other end 54 is welded to projection 50. The assembly thus formed is robust enough for handling and the relative locations of the various parts are fixed. To render the lamp operational, the electrical connection between the ends of the filament is broken by cutting away portion 46 of the shield.
