1516974 Function generators SOLARTRON ELECTRONIC GROUP Ltd 8 Aug 1975 06679/78 Divided out of 1516973 Heading G4G A circuit whose input-output characteristic is a "staircase" function comprises a series of differential amplifiers TR101, TR102 one of whose inputs is connected to the circuit input 175 and the other to successive tappings of a chain of resistors 180 so that as the input voltage rises successive ones of the differential amplifiers change states. When a differential amplifier TR101, TR102 changes state it brings into operation a related one of a series of further differential amplifiers TR104, TR105 which in co-operation with an output transistor TR106 causes the voltage at output 176 to follow the voltage of that tapping of the resistor chain 180 whose voltage was last exceeded by the input voltage.
