Abstract
1516899 Preparing hexamethyldisilazane T H GOLDSCHMIDT AG 10 Dec 1976 [10 Dec 1975] 50680/75 Heading C3S Hexamethyldisilazane is prepared by reaction of Me3SiCl with gaseous NH3 in at least 1 pbw per pbw of silane of hexadimethylsilazane as sole solvent and washing out the byproduct NH4Cl. In the Examples gaseous ammonia is passed into 1 pbw of Me3SiCl in 1 or 2 pbw of MeSiNHSiMe3. The product slurry is washed with 1¢ pbw of water, and the silazane layer dried with anhydrous Na2SO4.
