Abstract

1516862 Mounting rotors INSTITUT DE RECHERCHE DES TRANSPORTS and D M VENDRAMINI 19 Aug 1975 [22 Aug 1974] 34449/75 Heading H2A [Also in Division B3] A wheel rim 1 is secured to a wheel hub 3 by lengths of cable 6, 7 wound around the rim 1 and hub 3. In the arrangement shown, the rim 1 is a thin annular metallic armature which is suitable for use in an eddy current machine, a linear motor, a brake or magnetic suspension device. Each cable length 6, 7 passes twice around the rim 1 and once around the hub 3 in each winding cycle, the passage around the hub being on opposite sides of a median plane through the wheel for the respective lengths of cable 6, 7. Loops of cable B 6 , B 7 are wrapped around the hub 3 at Cb, Ca, as in Fig. 3.
