Abstract
1516587 Treating pulp canals and chambers of teeth L DETAILLE 15 Oct 1975 [18 Oct 1974] 42128/75 Heading A5R A device for raising the opened pulp chamber 3 and canals 1 of a tooth with a solution, which is subject to two periodic changes of pressure, one of higher frequency than the other, a feed pipe 19 into a chamber 18 within a housing which is a taper fit with a ring 6 adapted to be mounted in the tooth opening and secured by cement 8. The solution passes from the chamber 18 through apertures 21 into the tooth and leaves via conduits 22 and 24 carrying with it the dissolved matter from the tooth. The solution contains 1.5 to 3.75% chloramine and may be followed by a rinsing liquid, drying fluid and a fluid or paste filler. The solution is supplied from a tank 25 by a peristaltic pump 26 through a three-way valve 28 which alternately provides for sucking of the solution and air, the latter through a side pipe 29. A pressostat 31 which reacts to the solution/air mixture acts on the pump when high and low pressures are obtained to disengage and re-engage the pump to create the low frequency pressure oscillations. A further valve 32 is added upon by an electronic vibratory system 33 to generate the high frequency pressure, oscillations at the rate of 40-160 per minute. Alternatively the valve 32 may be dispensed with and the system 33 acts upon the valve 28. The solution is applied to the tooth at the rate of 50-200 cc/minute. In place of air, oxygen or ozone may be used in the solution. For running or drying the tank 25 is replaced by an appropriate container with the respective liquid or fluid. In a modification, Fig. 4, the solution is fed from tank 25 by a pressurized gas, e.g. air, from a pipe 34 which includes a pressure reducer 36, speed regulators 38, 41 and a valve 39 which is subjected to the output of a pressostat 31 so that low frequency pressure fluctuations are produced in the gas and hence in the solution. A by-pass pipe 43 leads gas to the feed pipe 19 and has a valve to supply the solution with gas, this pipe 43 and the pipe 19 having valves 44, 45 which are subjected to the electronic vibratory system 33 to provide the high frequency pressure fluctuations.
