Abstract
1515462 Afterburner for l.C. engines NISSAN MOTOR Co Ltd 21 April 1976 [25 April 1975] 16082/76 Heading F4B [Also in Division B3] An afterburner for an I.C. engine comprises a double walled inner liner 12 held in place in an outer easing 16, cast in one piece, by flanges 28 at the inlet and outlet openings of the reactor chamber, and at spaced positions elsewhere, and insulating material, which may be moulding sand or air, between the inner shell and outer casing. A plug 32 may be provided to allow moulding sand to be removed from the space between the shells after the outer casing has been cast in a mould having a core formed by the inner shell coated with moulding sand. The inner liner comprises two spaced apart shells, Fig. 7.
