1515266 Pressurized dispenser discharging into a closable container T LOUGHRIE 27 Feb 1975 [1 Dec 1973] 55793/73 Heading F1R A lid 11 or the body of a receptacle 10 is provided with a housing 17 having apertures in its base and a cap 20 connected thereto by a bayonet type connection whereby the cap is axially movable while retained in the closed position, the housing being adapted to receive an inverted aerosol container whereby axial movement of the cap displaces the container to actuate the container valve so that a spray is discharged into the receptacle 10. The cap 20 may have a handle for lifting the lid 11. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 7, the container valve comprises a cylinder 70 in which a piston 76 is slidable under the control of a hollow stem 77 and a spring 79. The cylinder has inlet ports 75 normally closed by a piston seal 82 but communicating with a piston chamber 84 during movement of the piston 76 until again sealed by the piston seal 83. The ports 75 again communicate with the chamber 84 on the return movement of the piston 76. The chamber 84 is connected to the stem bore 86 by passages 85. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 8, the container valve comprises a diaphragm 90 secured to the container by a housing 99. A nozzle 94 has a tapered tip 95 having ports 96 normally closed by engagement of the tip 95 in a recess 91 in the diaphragm 90 which has a central aperture 92. Movement of the nozzle 94 against the spring 97 forces the tip 95 through the aperture 92 whereby the parts 96 are exposed to the interior of the container.
