Abstract
1513884 Adjustable chokes for IC engines DRESSER INVESTMENTS NV 16 June 1975 [18 July 1974] 25613/75 Heading F1B A Venturi flow passage supplying fuel/air mixture to an I.C. engine comprises pivoted members 20, 22 which are rotated simultaneously to maintain the area ratio between the exit and throat within a predetermined range. The exit area Aep varies with rotation about shaft 34 of member 20 and the throat area At varies with rotation about shaft 36 of member 22, the area ratio being given by:- where L, H o , α and # are defined in Fig. 2. In one embodiment, Fig. 3, the simultaneous rotation is effected by throttle valve linkage via a cam 50 keyed to shaft 36 which engages a spring- biased follower 42 keyed to shaft 34. In another embodiment, Fig. 6, the rotation is effected by a pantograph mechanism 62 connected to the throttle valve linkage via a shaft 56.
