1513265 Washing machines G BAUKNECHT GmbH ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIKEN 15 Aug 1975 [4 Sept 1974] 34033/75 Heading D1A A washing machine has a rotatable cam 17 coupled to a pipe 14 for slewing it, against the biassing action of a spring or springs 26 holding a cam follower against an inner curved control surface of the cam, between successive operating positions whereat to supply water to treatment agent dispensing chambers 11, 12, 13 communicating with a treatment chamber, the spring force being greatest at positions of the cam follower on the control curve closest to the cam plate shaft 44. The treatment chamber houses a rotatable drum. Tension spring 26 is connected between pipe 14 and the machine housing. Wire 28 of adjustable length Bowden cable 29 is connected between pipe 14 and one end of slider 31 whose other end carries a shaft 42 and double rollers 43 which run on the inner curved control surface of plates 47, 48 anchored to programme controller shaft 44. Cam 17 rotates and as constant radius sector 56 passes rollers 43, a magnetic valve in the water duct remains open for water from a sprayer or nozzle on pipe 14 to wash washing powder from chamber 11 for the first washing. Straight sector 57 followed by constant radius sector 58 cause rollers 43 to move towards shaft 44, pipe 14 to slew about axle 21 to position B, washing powder for the main wash to be washed from chamber 12 and spring 26 to be stretched. Sector 59 causes pipe 14 briefly to move to position C, half over chamber 12 and half over chute 19 leading to chamber 13 containing a liquid soft rinse agent or a dressing agent. During sectors 61 and 62, pipe 14 returns to position B. Sectors 63 and 64 cause the pipe to move to position C and back to A.
