Abstract
1513241 Induction heating NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 21 May 1975 [27 Feb 1974] 8847/74 Heading H5H An induction heater comprises first and second spaced apart magnetic cores 30 (only one shown) having confronting slotted faces defining a gap therebetween into which a slab to the heated can be introduced, the slotted faces of each core being wound with distributed coils 40, 41, 42 connectible to a polyphoase supply to produce a travelling wave magnetic field travelling along the gap, the sets of coils of the two cores being so wound that like poles of the two cores are opposed.
