Abstract

1512253 Cleaning flocculated solids VISH MINNO - GEOLOSHKI INSTITUTE NIS 6 June 1975 [11 June 1974] 24503/75 Heading B2H Impurities are liberated from flocculation by solids subjecting the solids to mechanical vibration of frequency 20-100 Hz and amplitude 0.5 - 1.5mm. As shown, slime containing solids which are to be cleaned is fed through a pipe 2 into a conical classifier 1 and is vibrated by a perforated plate 8 which is actuated by a vibrator 5 supported on elastic linkages 6. Impurity particles are liberated from the solids and tend to rise and overflow into a chute 4. A stream of water additional to that present in the feed is introduced through a pipe 9 to assist in the upward movement of the liberated impurities. The flocculated solids are removed via a valved pipe 3.
