Abstract

1512221 Monitoring battery voltage SOC INTERNATIONALE DE MECANIQUE INDUSTRIELLE 31 July 1975 [31 July 1974] 31972/75 Heading G1U [Also in Division H3] A battery voltage monitor for a motor vehicle has an alarm indicator operative below 13À5 volts and above 16 volts for an increasing battery voltage (e.g. after switch on) but which remains off unless the battern voltage falls below 11À5 volts indicating discharge. At low voltage, none of Zener diodes 116, 115, 124 conducts thus transistor 126 is on, lamp 114 is illuminated and the setting point of the potentiometer 122, 123 is grounded. Thus above 13À5 volts, Zener 115 conducts turning 105 on and extinguishing the lamp 114. Above 16 volts Zener 116 conducts and the conditions are reversed. If the voltage falls below 13À5 volts, Zener 124 remains conducting since transistor 126 is off and thus transistor 105 is held on, keeping the lamp off, until the voltage falls below 11À5 volts. Diodes 121, 120, 125, 124 provide thermal drift compensation.
