Abstract
1512003 Indicators for brakes HOPE TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 30 April 1975 [24 April 1974] 17904/74 Addition to 1387808 Heading F2E The need for brake adjustment is indicated when a magnetic shield interrupts the field to change the state of an electric switch in response to excess movement of part of the brake actuating mechanism. As shown the switch 31 and the magnet 28 are located in bores in a sleeve 21 mounted in an actuator housing and a shield 24 (Fig. 2) mounted on an actuator rod 16 can move into a slot extending between the magnet and switch when the travel of the rod exceeds a predetermined amount. The rod is moved by diaphragm 11. It is stated that the shield may be fixed and the switch and magnet movable. (For Figures see next column.)
