Abstract

1511640 Bolt assembly ARTHUR SHAW MFG Ltd 27 Oct 1975 [26 Oct 1974] 46427/74 Heading E2A A bolt assembly for mounting on one of two relatively movable parts comprises a mounting-plate 2 and a bolt 1 which is slidably mounted thereon. The plate 2 carries a spring-blade 8 having ends 8a, 8b and is for mounting on a relatively movable part such as a casement 4 or a fixed frame 5. The bolt 1 is apertured at 10a and 10b, is stepped at 14, 16, 19 and 21 and is provided with an extension 1a for engagement with a portion 3 of a plate 6 which is mounted on the other relatively movable part. The bolt 1 is in the bolting position in Fig. 8, the extension 1a of the bolt being in engagement with the portion 3 of the plate 6, the end 8a of the spring 8 abutting the step 16 of the bolt and the end 8b abutting the step 19. Release of the bolt is effected by a key 20 being inserted through the aperture 10a in the bolt. Thus the latter can be moved to the position shown in Fig. 9 where the portion 1a has disengaged the portion 3, the end 8a of the spring 8 engages the step 21 and the end 8b engages the step 14. Release of the bolt is by the key being inserted through the aperture 10b.
