Abstract
1511576 Ignition circuits; engine stopping McCULLOCH CORP 7 Oct 1975 [15 Oct 1974 22 Sept 1975] 41077/75 Headings F1B and F1K A capacitor discharge ignition circuit includes an ignition capacitor 14 charged by the engine responsive rotation of a magnetic member through flux cutting proximity to a charge coil 10, means for effecting discharge of the ignition capacitor 14 by which means the capacitor is substantially discharged through a series circuit including an electronic switch 16 and a high voltage transformer 20 coupled to an ignition spark gap 24 in response to a control signal provided by engine responsive rotation of a magnetic member through flux cutting proximity to a trigger coil 31 and engine shut-off means for selectively loading the flux confining core of at least one of the coils. As shown the engine shut-off means comprises a shut-off coil 32 associated with a switch 48. In a modification the trigger and shut-off coils are arranged in parallel. In Fig. 5 (not shown), a two-legged magnetic core 110 is employed. The tap between the trigger coil 116 and the shut-off coil 118 is connected through a diode to the gate electrode of an SCR 126. The gate electrode may be grounded through the parallel combination of a capacitor 128 and a resistor 130. U.S.A. Specification 3894524 is referred to.
