Abstract
1510161 Fuel supply to IC engine torch igniter; Hydraulic accumulator BERU-WERK ALBERT RUPRECHT GmbH & CO KG 19 June 1975 [25 June 1974] 26140/75 Headings F1B and F1D Fuel is supplied to a torch igniter FG of an I.C. engine by a fuel pump (not shown) via a fuel supply line (not shown), inlet 11 and outlet 13 of a reservoir I which includes a sub-chamber 9 expandable to store fuel and to displace air from the reservoir and contractible to supply fuel to the torch igniter even in the absence of fuel supply from the pump. A non-return valve 17 is provided upstream of the inlet 11. If an insufficient head of fuel is available between the reservoir 1 and the torch igniter, excess pressure may be exerted on the fuel in the sub-chamber 9 either by employing an elastic diaphragm 6' (shown in dashed lines in Fig. 1) or by the provision of a weight (20) on the diaphragm (6a), Fig. 2 (not shown).
