Abstract

1509192 Tables combined with ironing-boards J B O'HARA 1 April 1975 [1 April 1974] 14261/74 Heading A4H A furniture article comprises a base support 2, having at least one rack 12, an ironing board 3 having a board portion 8 which, when out-of-use, is accommodated within the base portion and which can be raised to an in-use position above the base support, the board 8 having means 9, 10 engageable at a selected position along the rack 12 to support the board at a selected height, and a table top 4 mounted on the support 2 so that it conceals the out-of-use board 8, said top 4 being movable to expose the board 8. The table top 4 may be slideable on tracks 17 on the support 2 or it may be completely removable therefrom, Figs. 2-4 (not shown). Alternatively, the table top may be hinged to the base support. The table top may comprise two sliding or hinged halves. The board 8 is supported in use by X-frames 9, 10 hinged together at 16, hinged to the board and support at 13, 14 and adjustably slideably connected to the board at 15 and to racks 12 on the support 2. Cross-member 9c may be retained in the racks 12 by a catch (30, Fig. 4).
