Abstract

1508521 Liq. treatment of rope fabric KOSTROM N I INST LNYA PROMYSHLENN and TSENTRALNY N I INST PROMYSHLENNOSTI LUBYANYKH VOLOKON 25 Feb 1976 07469/76 Heading D1L Apparatus for treating rope fabric with liq., which apparatus can also act as a liq. seal for vacuum and pressure vessels, comprises a multi-bladed propeller 2 mounted on a rotatable hollow shaft 3 through which the textile passes, the propeller rotating in a cylindrical chamber 6 on which is mounted a frusto-conical member 7 so that the vortex stream generated by the propeller is constricted by passage therethrough. The treatment liq. may be recycled back to the chamber 6 [Fig. 2 (not shown)]. Two or more apparatuses may be arranged in series, the latter arrangement being used to wash fabrics [see Fig. 5 (not shown)]. In the former case two apparatuses may be arranged in opposition so that the streams flow in opposite directions either towards each other [Fig. 3 (not shown)] or away from each other [Fig. 4 (not shown)] for treatment under pressure or vacuum. In Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown) the apparatuses are illustrated being used as liq. seals for pressure and vacuum vessels respectively. Fig. 9 (not shown) illustrates the apparatuses arranged to circulate fabric in endless rope form, the propellers rotating in opposite directions so that the fabric is alternately twisted and untwisted.
