Abstract

1508284 Electrically operated diaphragm air pumps ARMITAGE BROS Ltd 25 Jan 1977 [19 March 1976] 11090/76 Heading FIN A pump especially for use in aerating aquaria comprises a bell-crank Ha, Hb pivoted at J, one arm being coupled to a diaphragm G and the other arm Ha being oscillated by the co-operation between an electromagnet B, C and a magnet I on the end of the arm Ha. The arm Hb has a forked end engaged in a slot (G3) in a projection (G2) on the diaphragm, the periphery of the latter being fitted over the rim of a cup-shaped chamber F provided with an inlet and an outlet e each controlled by a silicone rubber flap valve (N). A flexible tube (not shown) connects the outlet e to a delivery tube a through a base A on which the electromagnet B, C and pivot J are provided. A cover D is secured by screws to the base A, the cover and the base being grooved to receive a plate E carrying the chamber F.
